Sara Wine, D.O. is a Board Certified Family Physician with extensive training in the field of Functional and Holistic Medicine.  She graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete her residency in Family Medicine at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City through Michigan State University. After practicing as a traditional Family Medicine physician and hospitalist for many years in northern Michigan and Indianapolis, Dr. Wine realized that it was with her knowledge learned in holistic medicine that her patients had the greatest success in healing from chronic disease.  It was also in her personal journey after the birth of her special needs son that she discovered Biomedical medicine helped him recover the most , which fueled her passion to train to become a Functional Medicine Physician.  " Traditional medicine gave up on my son and I knew there had to be more that could save him.  I started trying to find answers behind the root cause of his symptoms.  Once I had those answers, his potential to heal and recover was limitless.  It is this same approach that I have studied and drives me to help my patients find the underlying causes to their symptoms and obtain optimal health." This eventually brought Dr. Wine to practice Holistic medicine full time in Ann Arbor for the past few years. Her heart, soul, and family brought her to relocate to Brighton, Michigan where she founded the Wine Holistic Health Center to bring Functional/Integrative/Holistic Medicine  to not only Brighton, but all of Michigan.

Debbie Schillinger and Stacey Colliton are receptionists at the center.  When you get a call, you most likely will be speaking with either Debbie or Stacey.

Debbie lives in Hartland with her two fabulous kids and lovable pooch. She has lived in our community for over 30 years and loves the hometown feel of the Hartland/Brighton area. She has always loved working with the public so after taking some time off to raise her kiddos, with an eye for accuracy, attention to detail, friendly and professional personality and belief in the value of Functional Medicine, she is a perfect fit for WHHC and our patients.

"In the last 10 years, I have learned a lot about how to improve ourselves, physically, emotionally and spiritually, by making simple changes to our diet and lifestyle. It wasn't until I started working with Dr Wine that I realized how much everything is truly connected. I had my own issues with low energy, fatigue and sluggish Thyroid so I became her patient as well. I am now on a regimen of vitamins and supplements, armed with the knowledge of what foods my body won't tolerate. It's been years since I've felt as good as I do now. Simple changes have increased my energy and stamina to raise two teenagers and handle the demands of a busy, but happy, life."
