The Myers IV

I can’t believe this day is finally here!  I have wanted to offer this game-changing optimal health tool for our clients for years - Vitamin IV Therapy with the Myers IV. So what is it and why do I love it so?

In a nutshell, it is a nutritional vitamin IV is a wellness infusion that delivers hydration, vitamins, and minerals into your bloodstream that boosts your energy levels, your immunity, and maximizes your overall wellness.

Some people when reading this article will ask – why do I need an IV when I already take these vitamins? Great question! The reason is,  IV nutrient therapy can achieve much higher levels of vitamins in your bloodstream than taking them by orally.  A great example is vitamin C.  To get the most benefit out of vitamin C to fight against bacteria, viruses, and have an immune benefit you would have to take over 2,000 mg a day. The problem is that taking over 2,000 mg a day often leads to an upset stomach or diarrhea.  These stomach side effects can be avoided when vitamin C is given IV and higher doses can be tolerated. Same goes with Magnesium.

Why is it called the Myer’s IV?

The Myers “cocktail” was developed in the 1970s by Dr. John Myer for his patients suffering from fatigue and immune issues.

 How Does It Work?

It is an IV infusion that is a blend of the following essential vitamins and minerals that get directly into the bloodstream without having to go through the digestive system.

Vitamin B Complex – B vitamins are a critical nutrient for most major biochemical reactions in the body including making healthy DNA, optimal brain function, providing energy to the body, and cell metabolism. They convert food into fuel

Calcium – Calcium is used by the body to build strong bone. It is also used by the nervous system, heart, and muscles to function optimally.

Magnesium – Magnesium is an important mineral that helps improve circulation, lowers high blood pressure, relaxes muscles, and has a calming effect for depression and anxiety.

Vitamin C – Vitamin C is one of our strongest antioxidants that helps support a healthy immune system, cellular healing, removes toxins, aids in preventing or treating chronic diseases, protects against memory loss, and lowers high blood pressure.

Zinc – Zinc has many functions in supporting the immune system, the gastrointestinal system, and in wound healing. It helps promote healthy skin.  It is a great nutrient to help fight off viruses and colds as well.

Selenium – Selenium is a mineral that helps support the immune system by acting as an antioxidant that boosts your ability to fight off infections.  It also helps in the healthy function of your thyroid gland. It also has been shown to help reduce asthma symptoms and protect against heart disease.

Safety

Myers’ Cocktail uses vitamins and minerals that have known nutritional benefits and low potential for serious side effects. Patients who receive treatments may experience a sensation of heat, which is likely due to magnesium. Magnesium may also cause lower blood pressure with lightheadedness if administered too rapidly. Some patients, such as those taking digoxin (lanoxin), should avoid treatment and a physician’s evaluation is needed to ensure its safety. All IV infusions share the risks of pain, infection, or inflammation at the injection site.  If you have any complex medical conditions, the physician at Wine Holistic health Center may request you obtain bloodwork or further testing before administering any IV infusions.
